Get Involved

The easiest way to get involved in Student Switch Off is to save energy, save water & recycle wherever you can, and encourage your flat-mates to do the same. Don’t forget to take our online pledge at the bottom of this page to let us know how you’re planning on taking action this year. If you want to get more involved, we have more opportunities below…

Volunteer with Student Switch Off

You can take action with us to raise awareness on sustainability issues in your hall by becoming a Student Switch Off Champion. On 16th October we will be holding a training session for volunteers – find out more and register here. In this role you will gain transferable skills in:

campaigning, communication, team-work and event planning

Register for the training session here and don’t miss out on the chance to make a difference in your hall! View more about the volunteering with Student Switch Off here. You can also view other opportunities relating to Climate Action here.

Keep in touch

We launch awareness-raising competitions throughout the year on social media so keep up to date by liking the Facebook page, following us on Twitter (@nus_switchoff) and Insagram (@studentswitchoff).

We also have a mailing list, which you can join below using the online pledge. Sign-up to be the first to know about our competition launches, and to get our sustainability tips & campaign updates straight to your mailbox. View our privacy statement here.

Drop Rachel an e-mail if you’ve got any questions about the campaign at Nottingham, or ideas for improving sustainability of the halls.
